Confirmed from Salt Run Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Salt Run Trailhead
“Start with the loop around the lake to get the scenic views.”
“Some parts of the trail feel remote and primitive and some are just quiet and peaceful.”
One of the more challenging hiking areas in NEO! It's tough to find much elevation gain, but this trail provides some great inclines and declines. Depending on weather, there might be a few areas of mud, and when it's icy, be careful on the stairs, but overall a fantastic trail.
Beautiful and challenging trail in CNVP! Lots of ups and downs and 3.25 miles long (plus another half a mile to get to the trailhead from the parking lot) so I wouldn't recommend this for a casual hike. But if you're an experienced hiker or trail runner, this is a must-try! Highly recommend coming in the Fall.
This is a great trail to test out hiking equipment before hitting bigger overnight trails. Trail is always maintained and clean. Bring water!
Tried my first hike run today. Quite muddy. Wasn't a hard trail to walk but definitely hard if run/hike. Some good up/downs.
