We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Sara Park Hiking Trail yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Trails, including ones for mountain bikes, that go to a slot canyon in a desert park.
What runners say about Sara Park Hiking Trail
“Though I ran out of time to follow the yellow trail to the river, the path is clearly beautiful.”
I have been doing this hike since I was a child. It’s an awesome hike in the desert. Never hike alone or without water. Never try it in the summer. You go in a little slot canyon and big washes that lead to the lake. Watch for all kinds of critters.
The trails were marked very well, could use a map that has mile markers like on the trail. But it was beautiful and so fun!
Super fun trails with tons of options. Trails aren’t marked super well but if you have a sense of direction you’ll be fine. Plenty of well worn pathways spread out in all directions with some even walking in the riverbeds. Went to a slot canyon and a little beyond.
Hiked through the crevice to the Colorado river and had an enjoyable picnic lunch by the water. This is a wonderful park to visit during the cooler months when the temperature is better suited for longer treks through varied terrain.
