Confirmed from Saratoga Gap Open Space Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Nature preserve open before sunrise to after sunset offering hiking and mountain biking trails.
What runners say about Saratoga Gap Open Space Preserve
“A nice place to visit, very beautiful and peaceful, located off of the California SR 9, Northwest kind of from Saratoga CA, a very popular spot for bicyclists”
Plenty of parking here to access multiple trail options. Good place to launch a long trail run on either the Skyline to the Sea trail or the Bay Area Ridge Trail. Plenty of roadside support options for vehicle-mounted crew helping out with a Skyline to the Sea effort that starts here.
Nice place to visit if you love trees. Very close to the city, so easy access. It can get crowded on the weekend, depending on where you are. But hike a little deeper into the woods and you will be all by yourself.
Just a great trail surrounded by trees and fern moss. There’s limited parking due to covid-19 but the trail appears to be still open. See signs and pictures attached.
Great trails super well maintained. Check out this old VW bug that flew off the road years ago
