Confirmed from Sardine Peak Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Shaded destination with scenic spots, such as Ogden Canyon Overlook and Coldwater Canyon.
What runners say about Sardine Peak Trailhead
“The altitude and location mean that it’s a little cooler than down in the valley, and I love how clear and well kept the trails are.”
“I absolutely adore this trail, there are moose, snakes, wildflowers, and stunning overlooks.”
“Quite a bit of uphill at the start but mostly shaded.”
Access this trail by parking at the Maples trailhead. I absolutely adore this trail, there are moose, snakes, wildflowers, and stunning overlooks. As of this writing, it is mid-June, and the wildflowers are absolutel overflowing. I ride Sardine on my mountain bike, but it's a gorgeous hike, as well.
This was a great hike (Ogden Canyon Overlook). I consider it to be a fairly easy hike, though others would probably classify it as moderate. You are rewarded with some great views of Ogden, Eden, and Huntsville along the way. Seemed moderately trafficked with hikers and mountain bikers.
Wonderful snowshoeing trail. Heavy snow, but groomed daily by visitors. Solitude, peaceful, and scenic.
Fantastic hike. The views are amazing. I 100% recommend if you are looking for a moderate hike
