Confirmed from Silver Springs Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Silver Springs Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (668 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 7 mentions

“The grass is well kept, and the sandy beach area always has plenty of tennis balls laying around if your dog is inclined to play fetch.”

👟 good for all levels 2 mentions

“The playground is great for all ages and abilities.”

Beautiful park, great for fishing! Kids derby hosted by SSA was wonderful. The lake makes for a great picnic area. There are plenty of picnic tables, docks and a covered area. My daughter caught 6 trout and 4 bluegill. We will definitely be visiting again and checking out the hiking trails.

Silver springs Park near Hudson is truly a fantastic park. There is so much to offer there. There is a huge play area for the children, and plenty of picnic and gazebos throughout the park. There are several hiking trails nearby. Basketball, tennis, soccer and baseball can be played here.

I take my dogs here all the time. The dog park is large and fenced in, giving them plenty of space to run unrestricted. The pond in the center is deep enough that dogs can swim if they want, but it has a fairly low slope at the edges so they can just wade.

Found this on a Google search while passing through. Nice!! Well maintained. We had lot #23. 18$ for residents, 22$ for non residents. Port-a-Johns were VERY clean. Website was soooo easy (and if you've dealt with Rec.gov..you feel my pain) Not in a State/Federal park. It's run by the city.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

Plan your run at Silver Springs Park

The practical stuff

  • AccessHours vary — hours are not posted for this trail, so check before an early or late run
  • SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
