Confirmed from Wood Hollow Metro Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Wood Hollow Metro Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (114 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 5 mentions

“Great boardwalks over wetlands and well-maintained dirt trails in the woods.”

Nice little trail that is secluded. Almost the entire trail is boarded which will keep your feet clean. Nice grassy area for dogs to run or kids to play. Close to a major road so the entire trail is tainted a bit by noise. Not a difficult trail at all. Great for a lunch break walk.

★★★★☆ — David , Oct 2022

Great trail. Fairly flat and mostly under the trees. You do have to be careful if the boardwalks are wet. They become extremely slick. The pond and dock area is very nice to sit and relax. There are nice restrooms and a shelter house as well.

★★★★★ — Michele , Sep 2021

Great condition, just a very mid park. Mostly a boardwalk and very minimal elevation change.

★★★★☆ — Tyler , Oct 2023

In the proper seasons, you can hear the bird calls and sounds. You feel like you are in the woods along a boardwalk trail with some parts that are dirt/grassy. This park also has a shelter and BBQ grills.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
