Confirmed from Downy Loop Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Downy Loop Trail
“Beautiful trail for an adventure with your pup!”
“Times I've been there it's been serene.”
Definitely a level 1 hike as most of the trail is a boardwalk. Not a lot to see but worth the visit.
Bring your boots! It's a nice 1+ mile loop, but it's either on grass, dirt, or boardwalk - and the grass and dirt can get very muddy! Otherwise it's a perfect afternoon stroll.
Great trail, go at odd times to avoid people's children clogging up the trail or making a bunch noise and crying.
One of my favorite Metro parks walking trail. Very pretty. Times I've been there it's been serene. Love the boardwalk, 2 people can comfortably walk size by side. My dogs have enjoyed it. Although they prefer off the boardwalk😅. Currently I've not seen picnic areas, maybe in the future though?
