Confirmed from Solomon Woods' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Solomon Woods
“Absolutely beautiful here!”
“The trails are fairly well maintained, and they are all clearly marked.”
“It is very quiet and the trails are well marked.”
Very nice contained hiking spot within the Milford city limits. Well marked trails. Some nice classic New England woods, streams, and ruins of brick storeroom. Take a map as you can get a bit turned around in here on the various paths.
Absolutely beautiful here! Easy to hike on and nice way to spend some extra time.
Nice, easy to negotiate trails. Usually very quiet & not typically crowded. Can be a bit wet/muddy at times.
Underrated park in Milford. Trails are better maintained than Eisenhower Park, and only get muddy after major rains. Scenery is more engaging, and elevations provide a great work out. No horses and typically no more than 5 cars parked here even on a Saturday.

“Cool foundation towards the start of the loop, a lot of diverse trees and shrubs including some that are already turning as well as others that were sunburnt.”

The practical stuff
- AccessHours vary — hours are not posted for this trail, so check before an early or late run
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
