Confirmed from BeaverBrook TrailHead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about BeaverBrook TrailHead

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (102 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 3 mentions

“Wooden boardwalk is well maintained after all these years.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 4 mentions

“Beautiful birds, frogs, and other creatures.”

Nice loop just over a mile (maybe). Visible trail even when it's covered in leaves. Easy flat trail. Would Mahe for a great running trail. Tucked between a rail line and the interstate so you can hear both during your walk. Couple muddy spots but it rained the day before I came out.

Cute little park. Gorgeous views. Tree covered pathways. Beautiful boardwalk over the wet area. I enjoyed the birdwatching. I went after a flood so some areas were underwater. It’s a busy little park, I saw several other people. My dog had a great time. It’s just a loop and very flat.

★★★★☆ — Debra , Oct 2023

It’s a nice place for a dog walk. Even just for a nice family jaunt through a peaceful setting away from large groups of people. Lots of tree cover. The boardwalk section though is completely exposed to the sun the entire length. Beware of the poison ivy just on the edge of the walkway.

Was in the area and looking to take a walk and did a quick search and came across this trail. I usually walk in neighborhoods so this was outside my comfort zone. I went around twice which took about 50 mins. I ended up encountering a snake on my first go round when I decided to walk a higher path...

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
