We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Sonoita Creek Trail yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 3 mentions

“Always beautiful, well picked up and maintained dirt paths.”

Birding trail at Patagonia Lake. Tall brush, bugs flying around and swamp/marsh on some of the trails. Lots of birds, beautiful calls. Saw a Javelina in the brush bedded down, spooked it a little. Came back on different trail to avoid it.

★★★★★ — Reyna , May 2023

Excellent birding area. Trail is a bit rugged but worth the hike if you’re able.

★★★★★ — James , Apr 2026

Great trail with lots of wildlife and scenery. Can get a bit difficult if you're not into climbing, but I looked hard for it to get technical. Most of the trail is level, unless you head up the hills away from the lake. Adjacent to Patagonia State Park, which requires a day fee to get in, I think $20.

Great walk through micro clinate of marsh and trees. It seems much more like northern California than southern Arizona! Lots of birds throughout the day and deer early in morning.
