Confirmed from South Beach Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park with a sandy shoreline, plus swings, picnic tables and a playground.
What runners say about South Beach Park
“The beach itself was clean and our dog had so much fun playing with other dogs as they came and went throughout the evening.”
“This place is absolutely stunning and quickly became one of my favorite spots to spend the day.”
“Having a dog friendly spot is so valuable!”
We travel full-time and arrived in the evening to let the dog and kiddo run around. We made dinner and went for a walk on the beach. Check out the photos attached. It's beautiful here. This is such a great local park. It was windy and we did get a good mix of both sunshine and rain.
Bring the dogs, the kids, the whole fam damnily! Some of the review pictures for this place mistakenly show a rocky shore. This is a nice, flat, sand beach great for running and sand castle building. I'm a bit wary of swimming here because of the massive power plant, otherwise the water seems clear of large debris.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
