Confirmed from St. Edward's Greenbelt's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
80-acre park provides dog-friendly trails & swimming amid lush greenery, small waterfalls & ponds.
What runners say about St. Edward's Greenbelt
“Outstanding place, great trails for hiking , the surprise was the water feature perfect for swimming, I visited in August and the water flow was steady and clean.”
“Beautiful hiking trail, It was kinda hard to know where we need to go at the start of the hike when but afterwards we figured it out!”
“The nature is stunning: golden autumn leaves, peaceful atmosphere, and a wonderful place for a soulful walk.”
Upon arriving we found a lot of broken glass in the parking lot leading us to read more of the reviews to only realize this place has a lot of car break ins… we risked it anyways and took the hike. I would imagine in the spring and summer this place is much prettier to walk through.
Completely beautiful Trail and Park. There is lots to do here. Such a big trail to spend your entire day. The main park entrance parking was completely filled . So we parked on the trail parking which was available on the road side . Kids would just love to spend time in the little falls available in the trail.
We had a great time hiking on this trail. It is a simple kid friendly nature trail. The areas by the creek is specially kids favorite. We went on a December morning but I am sure it will be lot more fun during summer. Parking can be tight when crowded but we did manage to get one.
A wonderful creek park in Austin with fun trails! Parking: The lot can hold about 20 cars (if parked efficiently). Finding a space can be a challenge if you visit later in the day on a weekend. There are still shards of glass from what I understand were multiple car break-ins from just a few months ago.
Trail conditions & character
“Beautiful hiking trail, It was kinda hard to know where we need to go at the start of the hike when but afterwards we figured it out!”
“The parking lot is small, we had no trouble finding a space but I'm not sure this will be the case in high season.”
“The trails range from easy to more of a workout if you decide to cross the creek and go up the hill.”
“Dogs: Allowed on leash, although we met a few off-leash dogs as well (so hold your pups on a short leash if they are not always friendly).”
“The trail along the river is nice but becomes muddy quite quickly in the rain and takes more than a few days to dry up leaving a couple inches of mud on the bottom of the shoes.”
“The nature is stunning: golden autumn leaves, peaceful atmosphere, and a wonderful place for a soulful walk.”
“A few steep climbs down into the valley, but overall a nice smooth path.”
