Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“I have a great time I thought the Beach Cove was so cute and I found so many shells that work I'm beautiful lavender purple and volcanic rock and pumice that was purple.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 3 mentions

We camped here and it was really nice. Right next to the campground is a formal garden that is absolutely amazing. I was there outside of peak season and it was still so beautiful. There are lots of beautiful trails Oceanside and a cool ocean observation building. The campground was shaded and slots had privacy.

Took my family to Sunset Bay Campground for their first taste of the Oregon coast. They loved it! Used it as a base camp while we visited other places each day. Loop A is under renovation from storm damage. The beach and surrounding areas have changed since I was there in the '80s. Very enjoyable and relaxing.

Sunset Bay State Park is an absolute gem, offering a perfect blend of stunning coastal scenery and outdoor recreation. The beaches are breathtaking, providing an ideal spot to relax, explore tide pools, or take in the ocean views.

I stopped here on a road trip on a recommendation from some friends that were local to the area. I got to see the sunset at the bay, and then got a campsite across the street. The sea lions sang me to sleep, and I had a beautiful hike the next morning.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
