Confirmed from Tamarack Bog's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Tamarack Bog
“It's a beautiful place if you like the outdoors.”
“It can be a bit buggy, but it also has that quiet away from the city people are looking for.”
I have lived next to this conservation area for 40 years and never get tired of taking a walk along the trails. You can easily spend an hour or two before you cover all of it. It seems like a fairly safe area.
We have really enjoyed walking our pups around this bog, with its trails. We also enter at the dead end of Fair Oak. We backed off this spring (2015) as we were picking up a lot of ticks. Also they recently posted no trespassing signs, so not so sure it should be called a park.
The more I use it, the more I appreciate this wooded area. It can be a bit buggy, but it also has that quiet away from the city people are looking for. Good for running, and close enough to be a decent walk.
Nice walk in the woods. Reminds me of my childhood. I was always out playing in the woods.
