Confirmed from Temple Quarry Nature Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“Nice, easy hike for viewing fall leaves (currently past peak though).”

The perfect spot to bring small kiddos. Stroller friendly and lots of climbing opportunities. Gorgeous in the fall! Short loop.

Fantastic hike. Beautiful views. Hike is mostly covered. Family friendly hike as it is not terribly difficult. Great for mountain biking. This is a beautiful little gem that I did not know existed after living here since 2003. I am glad I found it. I highly recommend.

Interesting place to visit, needs more parking (it was full when I got there), lots of people taking family pics, but it was beautiful. Wish the picture boards were more readable. There is a dirt trail you can walk up ti a waterfall, I believe. I disnt walj ut because it was getring dark. Will go again

★★★★☆ — Dani , Oct 2025

Good introduction to the distinct alpine environment of Little Cottonwood. Shaded, not too steep, easy turnaround at any point. The trail is multi-use and quite popular among hikers, bikers, and trail runners, bring your trail etiquette and share the path!

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

  • At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
