Confirmed from Brooks Nature Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Brooks Nature Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (258 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 8 mentions

“This is a beautiful little spot of nature with a big duck pond where the ducks feel so at home, you can spot eggs in the clear water.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 6 mentions

“Nice place to go and hike alot of picture spots in the area, it's usually pretty quiet and calm its fun to go and feed the ducks and all in all is a good little known place in st.”

Really cool park with a nice easy hike to a pond with ducks and hummingbirds. There is a part of the hike that might be a little difficult for people with mobility issues, but you don't have to go on that part to enjoy the pond and other areas. It's dog friendly as long as it's leashed.

We were surprised by this darling, tucked away little nature spot! We pulled up and were underwhelmed at first, but when we followed the path, we found delightful surprises that just kept coming! And we found it was way cooler than we were expecting!

Really cool little nature park in a hidden little area of St. George Utah. The loop around the pond is probably 50 yards total. See if you can find the little hidden fairy garden. It’s absolutely beautiful. Picnic tables and garbage cans nearby.

★★★★★ — Cjay , May 2024

This is one of my favorite hidden gems in Southern Utah. It's often empty and well kept. The short walk to the pond is easy and requires little effort. Every time I go here I see something new, something wonderful. There is a small parking and small sitting area with easy access.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfaceCrushed gravel — the rail-trail classic: softer than asphalt, still smooth enough for tempo work
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
