Confirmed from Owens Loop Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Center of the city and you’d never know it. Easy parking. Trail is clearly carved by the nature of others enjoying it, and clearly marked with signage. Easy to medium with mild variation of terrain.

I was pleasantly surprised. My knee was hurting, so I was glad it was an easy hike. A bit steep at the beginning, but leveled off after that. I took my small dog and he enjoyed. We hiked about 2.5 miles total. Wear your hiking shoes.

There are two different locations you can park. Also, two different levels of hiking levels are easy and medium. The medium level of hike is by the brooks nature park where cox pond is. The easier travel is by the red cliff's parking lot by the street light.

The name is kind of funny, because the "loop" is at the very end of the trail and takes about 2% of the whole time hiking, but the trail as a whole is great :) There are impressive views of St. George all along the trail and beautiful nature to see.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
