Confirmed from Tenafly Nature Center's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Nonprofit 400-acre nature preserve since 1961, offering a visitor center, guided hikes & bird walks.
What runners say about Tenafly Nature Center
“Well maintained hiking trails and feeling completely safe in the environs.”
“It's quiet and beautiful, and has the PERFECT mix of paved trails and unpaved, as well as amenities, but not too many to feel unnatural.”
“Well marked trails for the most part- Tho the red trail takes you out the city sign by the street and I wasn't sure where to go from there.”

It's a lovely walk through nature. It's quiet and beautiful, and has the PERFECT mix of paved trails and unpaved, as well as amenities, but not too many to feel unnatural. It's long and there's lots of wildlife and photo ops.
A nice quiet place for a casual hike. The leaves had begun to change colors. There was a good amount of gold and some red, mixed in green. It was raining when we went, but the hike was not hard. Part of this trail can access the Long Path, which leads all the way south to the lookout points on the Palisades cliffs.
There is free parking but it's a tiny lot. Probably fits 15 or so cars. Well marked trails for the most part- Tho the red trail takes you out the city sign by the street and I wasn't sure where to go from there. It just so happened to reconnect back into the woods a little ways south of the exit point.
Awesome trails for kids and adults alike. Difficulty is easy. Very quiet but since it's nestled by homes you can hear the stray lawn equipment at work. For this crazy time, the nature center staff did a great job of pandemic-proofing the experience. Come here to get a piece of your sanity back.
