Confirmed from Trail along Blue Ridge Pkwy's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Trail along Blue Ridge Pkwy
“Small water crossings and scenic bridges to traverse.”
Amazing trail with many hidden treasures !!! Parking is limited on side of road & no bathrooms friendly heads up
This is the MST Trail! It's a great trail to go when it's raining during the summer. Lots of canopy and rocks and water.
Easy to get to the water from the start and a trail that continues on if you choose to take a hike.
My wife and I (and of course Squirt) hiked 3 miles of this trail last Saturday (May 1st). It was a chilly start for this time of the year - 42 degrees at 9:30 am but it warmed up enough to make it an enjoyable outing. Fair amount of scenery in spots, but mainly just a walk in the woods.
Trail conditions & character
“Small water crossings and scenic bridges to traverse.”
“But the main obstacles in the trail are the numerous tree roots that you have to walk on/over.”

The practical stuff
- AccessHours vary — hours are not posted for this trail, so check before an early or late run
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
