Confirmed from Verde Valley Ryal Canyon Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Verde Valley Ryal Canyon Trailhead
“Beautiful up and back trail that takes you up to some awesome views.”
This hike is pure elevation. It seems to never end. We did 3 miles in and out. It was fun but coming down was hard because it’s so steep. Where good grip shoes. The views were amazing ! You are literally hiking in the forest alone! It rained and hailed on us which was fun!
Dont fool you with this.. in few minutes its flat then when we started to get up and up and up, yup.. its rocky too ( ive read reviews here and one ses its pure elevation "exactly!!!" Its not a loop unless you include taking the main road..
Beautiful, big sky views, but it's tough. Halfway point at the small stream is 2.5 miles in, 95% of it uphill on loose rough stone. Coming down is also challenging due to the grade. Come prepared, not recommended for novices . 1675ft elevation change.
Beautiful up and back trail that takes you up to some awesome views. We hiked in for about an hour and got 3/4 of the way to the end. Didn’t see any cows or other people all day.
