Confirmed from Waabizheshikana: The Marten Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Waabizheshikana: The Marten Trail
“Part of trail paved, part of road -literally dirt, rocks, twigs, yet flat/clean enough for a smooth bike ride.”
“Gorgeous (slightly) hidden gem of a trail.”
“Great signage and mile markers.”
Quiet, accessible trail with recent upgrades. Easily accessible by bus, too, the whole length of the trail. There are new mileage markers with maps. Tree seedlings have been planted, so please stay on the trail. It's been upgraded to reduce wet spots. Wear good shoes, as the gravel is sharp.
This is a lovely, easy trail! It’s flat pretty much the whole way through. There are socks to fish at as well. Very peaceful and beautiful at sunset. My only complaint is that there were several unleashed dogs and I was not comfortable walking my dog there.
This trail is very nice for walking/hiking and was my first time here. Trail is wide and has gravel surface. Great signage and mile markers. Easily connects to paved bike trails. I didn't give five stars because of the mess left by disrespectful dog owners. Clean up after your pets dog owners!
Gorgeous (slightly) hidden gem of a trail. It is clean and well-marked. Several options for additional activities along the trail including a boat launch, fishing dock, and bird-watching areas. We can't wait to revisit this trail when the seasons change again, just to see the difference in the landscape and wildlife.

The practical stuff

- SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
