Confirmed from Waabizheshikana Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Popular destination for hikers and cyclists as well as a peaceful walking spot featuring scenic views of the St. Louis River.
What runners say about Waabizheshikana Trailhead
“Along your hike on this trail, there are gorgeous sites to see including wildlife such as geese.”
“It's a quiet walk through the motor home park to the bridge, then paved and gravel trails across the river are so relaxing to walk in.”
This is a great gravel trail system that connects directly with the Willard Munger trail in West Duluth in the Duluth Zoo area where there are options for camping, as well as lodging with fire pits behind them. Along your hike on this trail, there are gorgeous sites to see including wildlife such as geese.
Nice gravel trail (mostly) along the estuary of the St Louis River. No major hills. Nice for walking, trail running, and biking. Stays open while the rest of the natural surface trails are shut down in early spring. 3.5 miles all together or so. No good parking at either end.
A beautiful peaceful trail. With slight challenges with hills and gravel terrain. Perfect for a hiker of any level.
Great place to hike walk bike or run/jog...great view of the St.Louis River and surrounding areas.
