Confirmed from Wade Springs Trailhead, Murdock Canal Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Wade Springs Trailhead, Murdock Canal Trail

🏞️ beautiful scenery 5 mentions

“Love this trail as it's a great smells and beautiful scene”

I went for a bike ride was almost to Wade springs on the paved Murdock trail head when I encountered a fuzzy friend. Chillean rose tarantula. Don't be fooled by their size, the small ones can be deadly too. They can move very fast when they want to. Can be fatal to someone less than 100lbs

We love riding the valley Vista trails nearby. Trailhead is small, so parking can be limited. Good restrooms and a water fountain. Right next to the Murdock trail. Great place to start a ride or run. Easy to find. Valley Vista trails are really fun!

★★★★☆ — Adam , Jul 2025

I love the Murdock canal trail! Today I biked from my house in Orem to Lone Peak high school and back. It was so gloriously wonderful and fun!

★★★★★ — Casey , Jul 2020

Parking is a bit tricky due to being a smaller lot but the trail is very pleasant.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
