Confirmed from Wake Robin Boardwalk Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 3 mentions

“😍 It was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen!”

Short but interesting boardwalk trail out into the middle of mentor marsh. Not a circle, just out and back. Enjoyed by birdwatchers. Larger dock areas w benches would have been nice for the birders.

★★★★☆ — Amy , Apr 2022

Lovely area but be forewarned that there is a rough area with exposed roots sloping sharply downhill to the boardwalk from the parking lot and the boardwalk itself is uneven and loose in spots. We thought it was more accessible and it was difficult with crutches or other aids.

★★★★☆ — Jeff , Oct 2023

Very small parking lot in the middle of a residential neighborhood. It's easy to miss The trail isn't very long, but it leads out onto a boardwalk in the middle of a huge marsh. I went when it was still pretty cold so there wasn't much to see, but I'm sure this is a great spot for bird watching once it gets warmer.

★★★★★ — Allison , Mar 2022

If you're interested in birding and/or beavers, this is the spot for you. It's tucked into the edge of a neighborhood, off the main roads, but worth the excursion. The trail is not long, but I've seen beavers and interesting birds every time. Take your binoculars. The marsh is spectacular year round.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
