Confirmed from Walter Hill Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Beautiful day for a hike, and the trail is wonderful. I saw a giant owl fly across the river as I was hiking. So inspiring.

Great Greenway trail for variety...hills (decent sized), bridges over water, great views, shaded & sunny, with two great resting spots! So thankful for this trail!

★★★★★ — Avery , Sep 2017

About two miles of additional hiking trail and improvements to an equestrian trail were dedicated today at the Walter Hill Trailhead on the North Murfreesboro Greenway. The trail follows the East Fork Stones River on the northeast side of Murfreesboro. Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation and U.S.

The water here is gorgeous. Lots of people come here for fishing or kayaking. There's a beautiful tree you can climb up (it has boards nailed to it) that is right over the water. They just put a walking trail in as well! Great place for a picnic. There is not too much to explore at this trailhead.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
