Confirmed from Whipps Ledges' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Whipps Ledges

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (742 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 13 mentions

“This stunning park offers a unique natural landscape characterized by impressive sandstone ledges and lush forests that provide a perfect backdrop for outdoor enthusiasts.”

One of the most beautiful places in Hinckley Park. So scenic with huge rocks and boulders surrounded by lush wooded acres. You can take one of a few easier paths up to the top. The view is breathtaking. Each summer, many people climb the huge rocks with professional rock climbing equipment.

This is such a cool park to take a hike through. It was super windy today but it meant the trail was empty for the most part. I liked the elevation and how the trail went across the rim. The photos don’t do it justice. I could see this trail being too difficult I.

Great place for family picnic, hiking and rock climbing! Following the colors printed on the tree for hiking, so you won’t lose! The rock formations are gorgeous!

Really cool hike. Lots of caves, we had a great time exploring all the offshoot trails. There is a marked route but all the trails pretty much run next to each other. Hiked with a 5 & 7 year old and they had a blast! We parked at the top o ledges picnic area and it was a beautiful day and not overly crowded.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
