Confirmed from Whitehall Parkway's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Former quarry converted into a park, featuring dog-friendly trails as well as scenic areas and fishing.
What runners say about Whitehall Parkway
“Great trails, beautiful ruins, and really nice quarry.”
“Teach everyone to play freesbee dogs love that too!”
Always a great place to wonder around and get lost in the nature. There's plenty of trails, old structures, and wildlife to watch. It's very humbling and easy to get to. There is a slight hill from the parking lot to the bottom of the trail but nothing worrisome. Just not ideal for strollers.
Great trails, beautiful ruins, and really nice quarry. 5 stars, definitely.
A nice quiet little place to do some walking, jogging, bike riding or even spend time with the family. Also there is a small little stream where you can do some fishing or just to relax.
Beautiful place. Clean safe . Handicap assembly. You can get an intense hike in up the query. Or stay on the flat bike path

The practical stuff
- AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
