We recently visited Widgeon Preserve and were thoroughly impressed with the tranquil beauty and abundant wildlife. There is one unpaved hiking trail which is a scenic 0.7-mile loop through wooded areas. It is very well-maintained, offering picturesque views of the wetlands and diverse ecosystems.
Nice peaceful place for a walk. We visited on a Saturday evening and it wasn’t crowded. There are two porta Johns near the entrance. Al though we didn’t get to see any alligator, we had a nice view of the sunset.
A beautiful nature trail with great views of water and wildlife. We do this trail weekly. It's always a great walk when we go. Be aware if you are going to go bring bug spray, especially if it rained recently.
If you love nature this is the place to go just make sure to wear bug spray while walking and STAY ON trails. This is not the place to explore. There ARE gators.
