Confirmed from Wildlife Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Wildlife Preserve
Loved this hidden treasure!!! We were visiting the USS Alabama and happened to notice an area of the grassy field was cut shorter than the surrounding grass. It was obviously intentionally cut this way to serve as a pathway. No signs were posted so my daughter and I decided to investigate.
A short boardwalk into the wetlands that is perfect for bird watching.
Trail conditions & character
“I'm glad we did otherwise we never would've known about the little boardwalk/pier that led to a 2-level gazebo over the marshland on the other side of the tree line.”

The practical stuff
- AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
- SurfaceBoardwalk — flat and scenic, and slick when wet, so watch your footing
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
