Confirmed from Witham Hill Natural Area's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Witham Hill Natural Area

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (113 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 7 mentions

“Lots of beautiful moss covered trees, wide trails where vegetation allows and interesting fall mushrooms in the fall.”

An excellent place to get lost in the woods at the heart of Corvallis. There are small hiking trails to explore. In Spring, the flowers attract a number of bird which is refreshing to see. The best part is its not too crowded. There is a small parking spot as well.

Noise level: pleasant, nature sounds and whatever company you bring Cleanliness: great Crowdedness: can go without seeing anyone (mornings) Temperature: weather-dependent... shade is cooler Experience: favorite forest, really enjoy mindful walks or resting at the bench to think Likes: so much green!

★★★★★ — Mavin , Aug 2024

Beautiful almost-mile walk in a wooded area. It remains cool even on hot days. Very beautiful! Note that to do the full walk you want to follow the signs for the Upper Loop and the Lower Loop (in whatever order you want). The Middle Loop cuts through the overall circle of the trail.

★★★★★ — Lars , Jul 2016

Nice trails among the trees. Not completely out of 'city noise' as I heard leaf blowers for most of my stroll. Need to ban those pulloters! But, it's still nice for an in the city trail.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
