Confirmed from Woodland Nature Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Woodland Nature Trail
“The trail is located in a wooded area that also goes along the Tittabawassee River, and the scenery is simply stunning.”
I recently visited the Shiawassee Wildlife Refuge: Woodland Trail and I was absolutely blown away by its beauty. The trail is located in a wooded area that also goes along the Tittabawassee River, and the scenery is simply stunning.
Great trail next to the rail trail. It’s a single track and is maintained once every few months. I’ve ran the trail several times and hike it a few as well. Plenty of birds and squirrels!
A beautiful trail with the entrance located close to Saginaw. Never an absence of wildlife. Eagles, snakes, songbirds, turtles and more. Perfect escape from every day life.
2/25/22 - Very beautiful, quite hiking trails, surrounded by some beautiful views. Wouldn't recommend biking here, multiple trees to climb over. Only part of the trail seems maintained. Lost the trail several times by the marsh area. Have a backup in case your phone dies out there.
Trail conditions & character
“The trail is located in a wooded area that also goes along the Tittabawassee River, and the scenery is simply stunning.”
“This is NOT the park system to go to if you do not want to get muddy or wet or lack balance (to stay on the logs - grab a walking stick if ya need).”
“Also it says there is a bathroom there but I didn't see one.”
“Clean picnic tables, nice gravel paths, dogs loved it.”
“Some trails are a bit rugged, don't let this discourage you, it's nothing too bad for walking but I definitely would not recommend a wagon or stroller out there.”
