Confirmed from Yakima Skyline Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

👟 good for all levels 2 mentions

“Awesome views and an easy hike”

nice hike and easily accessible from yakima or selah. we’ve hiked here for thanksgiving the past few years and it’s always beautiful. if you start at the proper trailhead, you can avoid driving by the litany of gun folks firing off hundreds of dollars of ammo. you will hear them, however.

★★★★★ — Ruthie , Dec 2021

Nice open hike through sagebrush and grassland with good views of the river below and cliffs. After parking at the trailhead at the end of Buffalo Rd., pass through the gate into the BLM land and walk along the road.

★★★★☆ — James , Dec 2019

Pretty good trail. On hot days there would be no shade so be aware. Pretty good views of Selah, Canyon road, mt. Adama, Mt. Rainier, and the cascades. The Traiil is clear and being among Rocks sometimes helped as a stepping stone during the incline. Caught view of 4 rams.

★★★★☆ — Natividad , Dec 2020

The trail is a rocky road if you go up the mountain its lots of weed and not the perfect place for your dog to run free but to hike is really good.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🏞️ Scenic views 22 mentions

“This trail is hard the first 2 miles is just up hill and there is a lot of rocks, but the view is worth it.”
