Confirmed from Yorktown Community Dog Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Yorktown Community Dog Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (105 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🐕 dog-walking favorite 5 mentions

“Best dog park around! Friendly visitors and regulars, huge area and great fenced spaces.”

There are 2 areas. One for large dogs and the other one for small dogs. The large dog area is huge and there's plenty of space for them to run and play. There are some toys and a lot of tennis balls all over. There's always dogs there . There's no running water.

Great Community Dog Park with a good size fence enclosed area for your pets to run and play freely. If you want to experience something more tranquil and private you can continue onto the many trails behind the park, just keep following the trail instead of turning into the fenced off section.

★★★★★ — Tony , Aug 2018

Fantastic (and BIG) dog park, a little bit middle-of-nowhere, with separate areas for big-and/or-rowdy dogs and smaller/shy dogs, adjacent to a dog-friendly walking path I sadly have yet to explore.

★★★★★ — Brady , Aug 2019

My favorite park. Huge big dog section with trees. Also a small dog section. A few benches. Lots of community park toys to play with. Community jugs of water for all the dogs. Give back and take some empty ones home and refill them, bring them to the park next time you come!

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
