Confirmed from Austin T. Blakeslee Natural Area's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Wooded park featuring several easy hiking trails passing scenic waterfalls.
What runners say about Austin T. Blakeslee Natural Area
“Besides the awesome views and the sound of water the park is very beautiful and has many of amenities and a great trail.”
“My friend and I went on the hike, and we enjoyed it BUT, there are spots where the trails could be clearly marked.”
I had a fantastic time at this park! The natural beauty here is truly breathtaking. With its river access, the park offers a serene and calming atmosphere. The air is so crisp and fresh, making it a perfect escape from the city.
This is a great trail for families! Only about 1/2 mile to the waterfall and the trail we took mostly went along the water. No bridge at one point had to make it down an embankment several feet deep might be challenging for some folks. We had multiple kids under 10 who were able to do it easily. Trails are marked.
This is a nice preserved area with pine woods and a creek with waterfalls. The entrance has a pavilion with tables and a port a pot. There are several trails, the red, the orange, and the blue, each with varying terrain and with benches along the way.
Went with a large group and enjoyed the experience as a novice hiker. Some areas were steep and there was a missing bridge, but we saw many young children on the trail, so it’s definitely doable. Lots of scenic areas to explore, and the breeze felt nice. One of the beginning paths contained shattered glass.

“The trail to the falls is mostly level though you are navigating stones, stumps and roots and therefore its not stroller friendly.”
“A major thing that we did not realize is you don’t really see the trail from the parking area.”
