Confirmed from Avenues Twin Peaks' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Kid-friendly area with trails for hiking and mountain biking, plus scenic views.
What runners say about Avenues Twin Peaks
“Good trail to use if you want a beautiful view of the city behind the Capitol.”
“Trail has little to no shade; in the rain, it was fine but I imagine in the summer, it gets brutal hot.”
“Easy hike with great views.”
Beautiful hike. We flew in and out of Salt Lake City for our Tetons trip and this was the perfect hike to end our trip with. You can see all of Salt Lake City from the top. Breathtaking views!
Great hike with spectacular views of the city and the mountains. My watch clocked just under 4 miles roundtrip from parking to the top of the second peak. Elevation gain was 1295', so it's not "easy" but extremely doable for anyone in reasonable shape (even if not altitude acclimated).
There is very minimal shade and absolutely no water on this trail. So make sure to come prepared and early in the morning before it gets to hot. The wild flowers were gorgeous. And the views are amazing. So worth it.
Seriously my favourite home near Salt Lake City. You can do so many micro trails in and around it. Great for anyone who wants to trail run, mountain bike, serious hike, or just take a stroll. The views are breathtaking the entire time. Words can't describe. I have even enjoyed a nice quiet picnic here.
Trail conditions & character
“Spectacular views throughout the trail and once we reached the peaks, it was even better with panoramic views of the valley and mountains around.”
“Parking is limited due to parking street side in a neighborhood/community, but to me that makes it great as that limits the amount of hikers on the trail.”
