Confirmed from Bantam Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Bantam Trail
“The area is clean, organized, and well maintained, and it’s very common to see people hiking with their dogs.”
“Beautiful trail but there is dog poop everywhere … probably one owner who comes regularly and doesn’t pick up after their dog”
🥾 Bantam Trail Stunning Spring Hike with Panoramic Los Angeles Views Bantam Trail is one of the most beautiful hiking routes in the area, especially during the spring when everything is green and in full bloom.
Easy hike with some great city to ocean views. Minor incline, dirt path. Parking is limited, so good luck.
A great spot for hiking and camping 🏕 Suitable for family and couples...
Beautiful Trail! Difficult parking but if youre an early bird or late night hiker I highly reccomend. I enjoy taking my 2 dogs with my wife. Bring some bags and clean up after them though keep the trail nice!

The practical stuff
- AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
