Confirmed from Runyon Canyon Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Landmark hiking trails known for sweeping city views & people watching, plus an off-leash dog park.

Visited with my family on January 4, 2026. Runyon Canyon Park is one of the best hiking spots in Los Angeles. The trail offers great views of the city, and from certain points you can see Downtown LA, Griffith Observatory, and even the Hollywood Sign from a unique perspective.
Incredible views and even better hike there is two paths you could take both are very scenic and incredible views that you cannot see anywhere else. There are steep climbs and also easy crimes. You can choose whatever you would like. Both are pretty fun.
Spent the afternoon at Runyon Canyon and I can absolutely see why it’s one of LA’s most iconic hikes. The views are stunning, the energy is unmatched, and every turn gives you another picture-perfect backdrop of the city.
This is the best hiking trail around this area! The view is beautiful right from the start, so you don’t even have to hike far to enjoy amazing scenery. The trail is peaceful, well worth the walk, and perfect for getting outside and connecting with nature.
