Confirmed from Barmeyer Trail Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Barmeyer Trail Trailhead
“Gorgeous views, well-kept trail, and a perfect mix of workout + nature therapy.”
“A great semi-short but sweaty trek up the mountain with lots of beautiful vistas along the way plus panoramic views of Missoula and the surrounding mountains from the top.”
Great trail! I highly recommend hiking here in the morning. I arrived about 8am and it was perfect weather with tree covering. Not much sun exposure. Its an easy 3.2 mile hike and took me about 1hr 15 min.
It high up in deep woods it's about 3 miles from th beginning the bottom to the look out poit but if wont to go to mount dean stone is about 6 1/2 miles to the peak
First time on this trail. It was challenging but a great hike and only a little over a mile to the top.
My pup Herbie & I thoroughly enjoyed a mornin hike on this beautiful trail. Amazing wild flowers, many birds, respectful dog owners & the running stream was peaceful.

“Really pretty trail, but dogs need to be on leash (not great) and also not the trail I was looking for with my 2 year old.”
“Nice short, moderately steep trail loop that leads to a beautiful scenic overlook of the Missoula valley and surrounding mountains.”
