Confirmed from John H Toole Riverfront Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about John H Toole Riverfront Park
“Very green and well kept grassy area now.”
“Nice park with beautiful views of the river.”
The city of Missoula has done a fantastic job of up-grading the park. It had fallen into lots of disrepair; over-groweth, over-use, the lawns were never taken care, always bone dry and nothing growing there; lots of areas where there was no grass, period.
Usually passing through on my bike. It has been really important to have these in-town outside spaces during covid to be able to walk or bike somewhere without a mask. Path and park are occassionally crowded, but you can usually find space.
What a great resource! I'm passing through from Virginia and enjoyed a lovely long walk here today. Beautiful and well maintained. Seemed safe too. Parking was available.
The bicycle trail goes along the river. I commute regular through this place. A great place to take a break and enjoy yourself.
Trail conditions & character
“One of my favorites to walk the dog but watch out for bikers they don't let you know they are coming”
“Bathrooms, dirt track, football area, some tires for exercising with.”
