This trail is mostly used by mountain bikers so through hikers want to be alert on blind corners. The traffic can be pretty regular on weekends, but even so this trail rewards the adventurous hiker with some unique views of the lake and a good chance to spot an osprey.
5-21-22 Both trails twin as bike and hiking trails. Blue Heron is 3.7 miles one way and runs between Church and Yanceyville. Continues to Reedy Fork Trail crossing Church and continues to Kingfisher crossing Yanceyville.
Nice trails to walk. Interesting and immersive. Conveniently located and not a lot of people. However it will not be open a day after rain. But the trail on Church st is No bathrooms there off Yanceyville. Just small parking gravel lot.
