Confirmed from Devils Kitchen Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Devils Kitchen Trail

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (85 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 6 mentions

“A beautiful place to hike with a nice didgeridoo to echo through the canyons.”

👟 good for all levels 5 mentions

“Great trail with easy walk at beginning and scrambling on rocks near the end at Devil’s Kitchen.”

Lovely trail aside from the jerk CCW•Q85 who decided it was ok to urinate in between some cars in the parking lot… the nearest restroom is right up the hill at the picnic area. We really enjoyed scrambling up into the Devil’s Kitchen area and watching the sunset.

This was a great hike. A bit of challenge at the end but completely doable. Worth the effort. We also took the side hike off the Devils Kitchen path towards the waterfall and saw a tribe of mountain goats - incredible. Overall a great hike!!

Seriously beautiful area and great views. We took the babies in our hiking packs and it was surprisingly not to difficult of a hike. Be prepared for steep hiking for those with bad knees. Parking may be hard to find.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
