Confirmed from Dishman Hills Natural Area's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Protected natural area with 530 acres of dramatic, diverse terrain for hiking & wildlife spotting.
What runners say about Dishman Hills Natural Area
“It was a nice, well maintained hiking path.”
“The hills offer scenic views of the valley, and wildlife is all around.”
“The trail seemed well marked and easy to follow, with "You Are Here" signs at many of the forks in the trail.”
“The park is dog friendly, nothing wrong with that and nothing wrong with those people who bag their dog crap like they are supposed to.”
Absolutely pushing! A great adventure with a wide variety of trails that intertwine leading to a number of different heights with extraordinary sights for any human to view. A taste of wild that is well maintenanced along projected for outdoor experiences. Hidden areas with previous adventures.
Went there last week, not far from us. Huge parking area, friendly hikers, lots of moss, little lake was frozen. Spend 2 hours of walking, rocks and hills everywhere. Hikers and their four leg children friendly. We didn't explore more but will definitely come back.
Escaping into the embrace of mother nature is always good for the soul of any city dwellers. The trail provides a nice steep climb to the top, giving explorers a perfect view of the surrounding. The ground can be slippery when wet and the park will close when its extremely muddy.
Love this place. Beautiful local hike if you don't feel like driving very far. No full time water features, but spectacular views of the valley and awesome rock formations.
