Confirmed from Iller Creek Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Kid-friendly and dog-friendly hiking area with scenic views.
What runners say about Iller Creek Trailhead
“This hike is beautiful, and there are several options for distance once you get to the area of the Rocks of Sharon.”
“I recommend taking the path to your right to start because as you ascend it will be in the shade and keep you much cooler as you are fighting for your life going up the hill.”
“Plenty of people out enjoying it for dog walking and disc golfing.”
One of my favorite hiking places near Spokane Valley. The easy access, good elevation gain, fair mileage, and great scenery have made this my go-to hike for over 20 years. There are lots of people who frequent the trail, so expect to see other groups.
This is one of my favorite trails of all times. I have already done two hikes this week. The whole loop is 5.4miles. Takes up to 3hrs depending on your pace. I would rate this as a moderate hike. It has so much cover that you don’t feel too much heat on a hot day. The views at the Rocks of Sharon viewpoint are amazing.
Nice loop trail through forested trails. Western section of trail in shade. Eastern portion of trail in the sun. Popular with mountain bikers and dog owners. Rocks of Sharon provide a beautiful view of surrounding farm land. There are several climbing routes on the larger rocks.
One of the best hikes in the Spokane Valley area. It’s a good hike for hikers of most experience levels, and the views from the Rocks of Sharon and Tower Mountain are absolutely awesome. They’ve improved the parking a bit for the trailhead in Ponderosa, but it’s still best to carpool if possible.
