Haven't been here since they re-did everything. Pretty impressed. There's a fairly easy loop available or you can hike across mixed grade terrain to the Phillips Creek Trailhead. Stunning views. Almost run over by a biker so not a fan of that. Only other real issue is the lack of adequate signage at junctions.
Plenty of parking and a port o John at the trailhead. The trail is well marked at intersections. The trail itself is well trod, though in mid March, there was still a lot of compact snow and ice through the wooded areas. Other areas are old road, easily traveled through the last patches of snow.
This is a clean and reasonably safe trailhead operated by Spokane County. It has access to some cool views of Tower mountain, Mica peak, and a long view of downtown Spokane.
Easy short trail, and well maintained, perfect for families with small children
