Confirmed from Freedom Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Freedom Park
“Trails very well maintained by Eastern Virginia Mountain bike Association.”
“A beautiful gem nestled near Williamsburg full of history with activities for the entire family.”
“The Free Black Settlement, the botanical garden, and the playground were all an easy walk from the center parking area.”
Freedom Park is a wild find for any Mountain biker. The loop C has an obstacle ever 100 yards, seems that way. The trail has table tops, half table tops, small to large jumps, skinny rails, dirt jumps, gap jumps, and a few others. Most MTB trails similar to this are paid. The trail apps rate this as blue/intimidate.
Lots of trails to choose from and bike friendly. They have a bike repair station as well as a bike wash. The visitors center offers nice bathrooms and an air conditioned location. The botanical garden is beautiful and there were several birds and butterflies to watch.
I've heard the trails are nice. You pass the small "botanical" garden in the roundabout as you go to the park. The park has a visitor center with bathrooms and exhibits. There is a playground just past the visitor center with Pavillion which is very nice.
Trails very well maintained by Eastern Virginia Mountain bike Association. “C” trail has some fun features but nothing crazy except the big easy drop. Great place to progress your mountain biking skills.
