Confirmed from Great Esker Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Great Esker Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (217 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 7 mentions

“This walk starts out on a downer wandering past Lowes but there is a bench at the top of the hill with a great view if you persevere.”

One-of-a-kind Hidden Gem with stunning views. This is not a flat Trail there are lots of steep hills and is even more challenging in the winter time with the snow on the ground. Great place to go snowshoeing if you're up for a challenge.

★★★★★ — Jim , Jan 2022

First time here and it was great adventure. I did my bike ride in the morning, not a lot of people and path is moderate. I recommend and I will visit again.

★★★★★ — Nerissa , Jun 2020

Hidden gem, always forget how beautiful Great Esker is. Lots of wildlife, quiet place to go for a walk. Some of the coolest trails are a little hidden, but if you do some exploring you will find them. It's a shame the old boy scout bridge is no longer there.

This walk starts out on a downer wandering past Lowes but there is a bench at the top of the hill with a great view if you persevere. Take the side trail before the hill for a quick photo op.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

“Parking lot just for the park at the end of the mall exit road; you don’t need to park in the F45 Gym lot, though it has more and shadier spaces.”
