Confirmed from Hacienda Hills Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Hiking locale featuring several moderate & challenging trails & picturesque mountain views.
What runners say about Hacienda Hills Trailhead
“If you want to have a great workout, don't mind going up steep hills, being out in nature, enjoying beautiful scenery, and having fun, this hike is for you!”
“Lovely trail with some nice shaded inclines and spectacular views.”
“Some parts were moderately steep, but it’s a family-friendly hike.”
Excellent hike, lots of shade. First 1/3 is a steep climb and switchbacks then a shaded valley with lots of ferns. 3/3 is uphill switchbacks out of the valley. Lots of people complaining about “dog poop” not realizing it’s actually coyote droppings. Note the red berries in their poop is common food for coyotes.
Local hiking spot with moderate climbs. There’s a trail that’s wheelchair-friendly, so it’s more accessible than your average trail. Came here on a Saturday morning, and there were quite a few people who were running/biking/hiking.
If you want to have a great workout, don't mind going up steep hills, being out in nature, enjoying beautiful scenery, and having fun, this hike is for you! I took the Ahwingna Trail to the Rattlesnake Ridge Trail and back. These trails overlook two canyons on each side full of lush greenery.
Beautiful, nice and quiet. Right in the entrance there are only 3 parking spots I believe but you can always park across. Saw a couple pf vultures. First time seeing them. Wasnt able to hike all the way up to the tower. I will be back to try again lol Edited: Made it to the top this time
