Confirmed from Hemlock Cliffs' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Scenic hiking trails through forests and over streams past cliffs, caves and waterfalls.
What runners say about Hemlock Cliffs
“The paths and new bridges are well kept.”
“One of the best short hikes I've ever been on, beautiful scenery and a fun little hike!”
“The trail was peaceful and quiet, and the cliffs were draped with beautiful icicles, making the winter scenery feel magical.”
“It was a fairly easy hike that’s family friendly and has lots of hidden gems to look out for.”
I was not aware of a place like this so close to Evansville. Great day drive destination. The water level is low now, so the falls are a trickle. They'd be awesome to see with more water. It was still fun to explore the creek bottoms and deeper pools with small fish in them. The water that was there is very clean.
One of our favorite hiking spots! Waterfall is much better after it rains! They made some updates to have it loop back up to the parking lot. My kids love to hike off the trails and play in the creek.
What a wonderful trail and experience hidden right outside French Lick. Our family loves to hike and be outside and this one didn’t disappoint. The rock formations are tall, much like on the Kentucky River outside Lexington. Lots of crags and cracks and areas to climb safely for kiddos.
Visited Hemlock Cliffs in January and it was stunning! The trail was peaceful and quiet, and the cliffs were draped with beautiful icicles, making the winter scenery feel magical. Some waterfalls were smaller in the dry season, but the frozen formations more than made up for it.
