Confirmed from Heritage Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Green space featuring a playground & splash pad, plus picnic shelters, a boat launch & walking path.
What runners say about Heritage Park
“However, it is clean, and the people that I came into contact with are very polite and I saw some fun local wild life.”
“There's some great views if you have a boat of any sort and a launch suitable for pretty well anything you could reasonably wish to fit in a bayou.”
I love this park. It holds many social events and the Christmas decorations are beautiful. The sunset over the bayou is stunning. They recently redid the children's play area and my grandson loved it. My brother and I are there almost every day. We walk there and walk the walkways. There are ducks that live there also.
Very cute park, good location. Security cameras and security driving around so it feels very safe. We loved walking along the water and track. Great place to spend time on a pretty day :)
I am not from around here. But so only 4 because of My standards. There is Lots of rules. And no dogs? No bbqs? No bikes? No sports? What kind of park is this? My kid can't ride their bike around, while I walk my dog? And we can't set up a mini soccer thing? This is so odd to me.
Right by Old Town Slidell. Plenty of parking, EV charging too!! Large, well maintained park with a bandstand, benches, covered pavilion, walking paths right along the bayou. Lots of shops and food nearby. We were very impressed and will be back to enjoy and explore more.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
