Confirmed from Hopemead State Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Hopemead State Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (22 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

Beautiful path a little less traveled but well worth it. Beautiful view of "Lake Williams"? (Estimated belief not proven) but definitely nice serene moderate walk as on one patch due to some rocky inclines and declines on some paths, but like any, there are multiple routes.

★★★★★ — Victoria , Nov 2023

Small 1 mile trail leading to gardeners lake. Easy walking, can go with the entire family

★★★★★ — Pratik , Jul 2021

Nice short walk with only a bit of small hill decline closer to lake. Dogs welcome on leashes. Many pets were enjoying a good swim. If you picnic there bring a wagon with chairs, bug spray and wear water shoes as there is some broken glass on dirt and probably in water.

★★★★★ — Eilleen , Jun 2023

Nice place for a hike. About 1/2 mile walk to the lake. Old root cellar to explore close to the water.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
